New Orleans Metro Chapter Knights of Columbus

7:45 PM – Rosary, followed by opening prayer and pledge of allegiance to

the flag.

All officers present with the exception of Secretary Jerry Toups, who was

excused from the meeting.

Present: Councils 5747, 6870, 3729, 4663, 9415, 1437, 2878; District

Deputies #1, 3; Assemblies 2039 and 314.

Motion to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as published was

accepted.

There were no bills or communications.

Treasurer’s report Bank Balance as of 5/31 was $1050.24 the saving account

balance is $4227.16 for a total of $5277.40

Committee Reports:

Membership – Paul Gagnet – asked that we encourage more Councils to

participate in Metro meetings.

Seminarians – Steve Hart – Mark Beard will be ordained as a transitional

deacon. He asked that we collect toiletries and supplies for the fall class at

Notre Dame Seminary.

Keep Christ in Christmas Committee – Steve Hart reported that longtime

chairmen Charles LeBlanc had died in early June; the Committee will begin

its meetings in August.

Nomination closed and all were elected by acclamation.

Motion to donate $100 to Notre Dame Seminary to help defray the cost of

the ordination reception was accepted.

Dues notices will be mailed in late June / early July 2008 to all Councils and

Assemblies in Areas A, B and C. Dues are $25/Council.

President Louis Calato reported that the Order had given over $31 million

and 68 million hours of service to charity for the year 2007.

at Rummel Council, 39 members were advanced.

Good of the Order & Council Reports

#2878 – Helped with installation of stained glass at St. Bernard parish

church. Council will conduct a blood drive the last Sunday of October.

#3729 – Introduced new GK Melvin Baiamonte.

#4663 – Soliciting donations for Seminary.

#5747 – Reported on results of Crawfish Festival and donations made to

Children’s Hospital. PGK Cisco Gonzales will be new Area A Coordinator.

#6870 – Reported on Quarterly Communion and Installation Banquet.

#8546 – Requested prayers for Deacon Ed Coudran.

#9415 – Glenn Guilyot elected GK; Council has been renamed St. Maria

Goretti.

Assembly #2093 – Installation of Officers will be in August.
