State Deputy Award
The Knights of Columbus State Deputy Award is a prestigious honor, often considered the highest state-level council award, that recognizes councils for outstanding achievement in membership growth and service programs, which include faith, family, community, and life projects.
The specific criteria and name of the award can vary slightly by state, but the core purpose remains the same: to acknowledge councils that "go above and beyond" in fulfilling the order's mission.
Key aspects of the State Deputy Award:
- Excellence in programs: Councils must demonstrate strong performance in implementing a wide range of programs in the four service areas: faith, family, community, and life.
- Membership and insurance goals: Achieving significant membership growth and meeting insurance quotas are critical components for earning this award.
- State-specific criteria: While the general principles are consistent, each state council defines its specific requirements, which may include a certain number of mandatory and elective programs to be completed each year.
- Recognition: Awards are presented by the State Deputy to councils that have excelled in meeting these criteria.
